Wayback adds disabled access thanks to Bendigo Bank grant

The club received a $29,000 grant for its 'Wheelies for Waybacks' project which aimed to provide secure wheelchair and disability access to the club's facility, directly from the rear car park. A disability access ramp was built from the rear door with walls and a roof built to enclose the ramp with walls and create a new sheltered entrance, with local tradespeople involved. Club president Andrew Fraser said it was a fantastic project and the club was appreciative of the bank for once again supporting the club. "It's a fantastic addition to the club, has revitalised the back area and made it a much more desirable access point for the club," he said. Port Lincoln Bendigo Bank branch operations manager Prue Hywood said the bank was very pleased to support the project, which would not only assist the disabled but also provide easy access for prams and the elderly with walkers.

"The new sheltered entrance area will be utilised for displaying memorabilia and space for

people to leave their equipment," she said.

"Partnering with our local non for profit organisations to support our community is what we do best."

To date, the bank had provided more than $46,000 to the club, which had gone towards medical supplies and the 'Demon's Den' juniors area.

This latest grant was made possible thanks to an application made by Kate McShane.

Thanks had gone to Duncan Moore from Moore Design and Construct for his hours ensuring the completion and management of the project.
