Episode 29: Importance of giving young people a platform to have their voice heard

https://anchor.fm/s/1b5f1610/podcast/rss

Summary

Young people with disabilities these days are facing issues with independence, having a voice, identity and society in general. For young people, at an individual level, the personal management of uncertainty and risk is experienced as a pressure to make choices in a context where traditional certainties and institutional supports are disappearing. The widespread use of the idea of choice with reference to young people (for example, the idea of ‘choice biographies’) is sometimes understood as meaning that young people are free to make choices.
